KAPLAN INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE, SOUTHWARK
Dickson Architects Limited were appointed by Kaplan International College on the extensive refurbishment of five floors at Palace House in Southwark, Central London. Palace House is a commercial office block constructed in 1986 which is situated opposite Southwark Cathedral and adjoins the sensitive ruins of Winchester Palace.
Our client currently occupied two floors over 1st and 3rd floor levels. The project involved a CATB fitout, in the region of 4,600sqm, of all floors including the newly acquired 2nd 4th and 5th floors to provide a flagship building for Kaplan in the UK.
The brief was to provide an array of flexible social teaching facilities and communal spaces for students as well as office and meeting rooms for staff. Our brief was to assist Kaplan’s in-house design and branding team and to obtain necessary town planning and conservation area consents. The new flagship building was launched for Kaplan’s 10th anniversary.
